This is one of two ECB pumps installed at United Utilities water treatment works in the North West. It is quite a specialist application due to the pumping of 36% hydrochloric acid at 95degC with the inclusion of soids in the liquid.

The ECB pump is manufactured from solid PVDF to cope with the liquid and the temperature. The pump is also fitted with a dual cartridge seal to deal with the solids. We were approached by UU plc as the pumps previously installed by a competitor were continually failing. This is why the chemical pump sits on a specially adapted baseplate to minimise the disruption to our clients existing pipework.
