Crest Pumps Group are the UK’s first choice for manufacturing and supplying process pumps for the solvent and paint industry. We have provided high efficiency pumps to large multinational companies which include, AkzoNobel and GE.

We provide pumps for all parts of the Solvent production process.

About our Solvent Pumps

The Crest range of solvent pumps are uniquely designed to ensure the highest efficiency with the lowest pump life-cycle cost. Our solvent pumps have been chosen to be installed in large companies like AkzoNobel and GE due to the 40 years of reliable service Crest Pumps Group have supplied.

Crest Pumps Group recommend using a either a horizontal or vertical centrifugal process pump for transferring and pumping solvents and paint as these provide the safest and most efficient way of pumping valuable content.

Advantages of our range

The range of solvent pumps have been built to be totally safe and reliable in an industry where safety and consistency is paramount. All of our solvent pumps are available to ATEX standard certification ensuring full explosion protection which is critical in a solvent and paint environment.

Our Magnetic drive pumps are seal less ensuring a leak-free design combined with a high efficiency of up to 86%, reducing the total cost of the pump over its lifespan. All applications are covered as our pumps can be built in a range of durable and corrosion resistant materials, from 316 stainless steel and Polypropylene to Hastelloy and ETFE materials for specialist applications.

AkzoNobel

Akzo Nobel submitted their enquiry to Crest for 2 different pumps, for two different parts of their onsite operation. The first pump would need to be able to handle a high viscosity liquid (255 centistokes)  in an Atex Zone 1 environment. Crest Pumps supplied a stainless steel, closed impeller SHC pump in under 3 weeks as requested.

A Magnetically driven AMX553 was also supplied for a separate transfer process that was atex zone 1 certified and despatched in just 4 days.

GE

GE came to Crest for a solvent plant based in Hong Kong. GE needed pumps that could empty sumps containing a corrosive chemical solution. Crest supplied 3 VSL vertical pumps as the VSL range are able to run dry, and have very little maintenance requirements – allowing them to be a ‘fit and forget’ pump. whilst handling the harshest of applications. The pumps were custom built to fit into the shallow tanks. The flexibility of the design allowed GE to get these pumps in operation quickly alleviating downtime.

Brenntag

Brenntag approached Crest with an enquiry after Crest was recommended by another well known chemical manufacturer. They needed 3 small pumps capable of handling a caustic based application that could run efficiently for long periods throughout the day. The pumps would be used primarily used for transferring solvent chemicals from one system to another.

Crest supplied 3 PP22 mechanical seal pumps that were of compact size and could run absolutely efficiently, the PP range has a capacity of up to 26 m3/hr and a head to 22 metres. The pump was built from solid in our unique in-house production plant and was built in the PVC material with a PTFE impeller option.
