Case Studies > Scottish Water
Scottish Water ensured their hazardous chemical process remained safe and efficient with an AMX mag drive from Crest Pumps Group. Thus reducing cost while improving their ecological profile.
Scottish Water had already worked closely with our Scottish distributor – Ferrier Pumps– for their waste water treatment plant in Glasgow in 2014. They also needed a chemical pump to process aluminium sulphate and sulphuric acid. Scottish Water had previously had a competitor’s mechanical seal pump that had failed as a result of the mechanical seal running dry in a separate part of the operation.
Scottish Water’s main concern was safety for their employees and were specifically looking for a pump that would provide better measures to stop a repeat of the pump failing.
Crest Pumps Group supplied the AMX magnetically driven process pumps which is the industry standard in safe and reliable processing on harsh, acidic and corrosive chemicals. The AMX range featured patented run-dry technology meaning the pump is virtually leak free, as the design dissipates any heat build up caused by running dry and therefore damage to the pump.
Due to our large ex-stock holding, we were able to get the AMX range out to Glasgow for next day delivery, meaning Scottish Water’s process could be up and running in no time at all.
As a result of choosing Crest Pumps Group for their chemical processing, Scottish Water assured not only the safety of their employees they also improved reliability which improves both cost efficiency and ecological integrity.
