Ideal for transferring corrosive fluids, our range of Debem portable drum transfer pumps are engineered for ease of use and durability in industrial environments. Our Portable Drum Transfer Pumps are engineered for safe, efficient, and reliable handling of corrosive fluids. Designed to operate exclusively in a vertical position, these pumps must be fully immersed in the liquid during use. Running the pump dry or allowing air bubbles to enter the system may result in damage to the shaft guide and internal bushing.

Portable Drum Transfer Pumps for Corrosive Fluids

Each pump features a dip tube with an open impeller mounted on a drive shaft. Fluid is transferred via a centrifugal action, created by the impeller, which is driven by either an electric or pneumatic motor through a coupling. The pump is secured using a ring nut and transmission joint, ensuring smooth power transfer and dependable operation.

The construction of our drum pumps is specifically designed to contain any spillage within the drum itself, helping to maintain a clean and safe working environment while reducing waste.
Our pneumatic drum transfer pumps can produce flow rates up to 70 litres per minute and the open impeller maintains the continuous flow of clean corrosive fluids, with an apparent viscosity up to 600 cps.

The drum transfer pumps with electric motor is fitted with an 800 watt motor and open impeller. This combination allows the pump to produce flow rates up to 90 litres per minute, with a continuous flow of clean corrosive fluids with an apparent viscosity up to 900 cps. The motor also features a safety switch that prevents the pump from restarting accidentally in case of power outages.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a drum pump used for?

Drum pumps are used to safely and efficiently transfer liquids from barrels, drums, or containers—especially when handling corrosive, flammable, or viscous liquids.

Are drum pumps portable?

Yes, most drum pumps are lightweight, compact, and easy to move between containers or locations.

Can a drum pump run dry?

No, most drum pumps are not designed for dry-running. Operating the pump without fluid can damage the shaft guide or internal bushings.

What type of motor can I use with a drum pump?

Drum pumps can be operated with electric or pneumatic motors. The choice depends on power availability, fluid type, and whether ATEX compliance is needed. We have both available in our range.
