The new Depa range

Air Operated Diaphragm Pumps, or AODs, have shown themselves over the last 40 years to be an ideal solution to handling difficult processes or those demanding exacting hygiene standards, for example in the food or pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Key to these is an unimpeded flow path that ensures a smooth transfer of product, and providing an easy cleaning and maintenance regime.

The new DEPA range of Plastic Air Operated Diaphragm Pumps, stocked by Crest Pumps, add to this efficiency by introducing a more flexible maintenance regime. Plastic Air Operated Diaphragm Pumps are designed to be machined from solid polypropylene or PTFE. These pumps offer consistent high quality across the daily requirements of pumps, such as temperature, chemical resistance and high mechanical strength. And this form provides complete external resistance to corrosive environments.

These DEPA air driven pumps have been developed as a modular system, meaning that individual components of the system can be easily disassembled, maintained and replaced with the minimum of fuss. Many of these components are common to all versions of these pumps, allowing for even greater flexibility and ease of service. Of course, when you are dealing with highly corrosive substances, such as you find in the industrial and chemical sectors, this easy interchangeability of parts is invaluable.

The design of these pumps feature internal air valves which, with no lubrication required, are low maintenance and less liable to freezing. Noise is reduced to less than that of its competitors and it can handle larger solids, ideal if you are working applications to deal with the emptying of mobile and stationary tanks or cisterns.

DEPA pumps are the only diaphragm pumps in the UK to achieve ATEX Zone 0 certification – allowing pumping in dangerously explosive gaseous environments. For the transfer of solvents, a common process in paint and varnish production, and one that can create an explosion-prone atmosphere, this certification provides peace of mind that DEPA plastic AODs will operate completely safely.

Lastly, DEPA pumps have introduced a new E4 compound diaphragm to suit their range of AODs, which increases the lifespan of the diaphragm through higher efficiency ratings and ultra-clean hygiene levels, ensuring a saving in air flow consumption and energy meaning, of course, savings for you in both the short-term and in total operating cost. It also means the diaphragm will need to be changed less often.

Here at Crest Pumps, we have a full range of these exciting new DEPA pumps and engineers on hand to explain more fully. We can talk through your process requirements with you to ensure the best pump for the job.
